In September 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to organize the second Da River Shrimp and Fish Festival in Hoa Binh Province in 2024, with the goal of promoting the development of the aquaculture industry and products from Da River shrimp and fish; promoting and affirming copyrighted brands associated with the two specialty brands "Da River Shrimp of Hoa Binh" and "Da River Fish of Hoa Binh". At the same time, through the Festival, introduce impressive images of the potential, strengths, landscapes and traditional cultural identity of Hoa Binh Province in general, and the Hoa Binh Lake tourist area in particular, contributing to stimulating tourism development and attracting and expanding the domestic and foreign tourist market to Hoa Binh Province.

Accordingly, the festival must be carefully prepared, ensuring security and order, safe and smooth traffic, fire prevention, ensuring urban landscape, environmental sanitation and food hygiene inside and outside the areas where the Festival activities are held. Promote propaganda on mass media to widely promote the Festival's activities to attract more tourists to visit, travel and experience, businesses to invest in the province's agricultural and tourism industries. Turn the Da River Fish and Shrimp Festival into a prominent event, gradually moving towards a larger scale to enhance the value of aquaculture, creating a typical product of Hoa Binh tourism.

Tourists relax on Hoa Binh Lake

The expected time to organize events from October 25 to November 4 includes the following contents at the following locations: (1) On October 25, organize a fishing ceremony, release flower lanterns on the Da River held in the downstream area of the Da River (Address: Pedestrian Street Flower Garden, Da Giang Street, Phuong Lam Ward, Hoa Binh City - 200m from the foot of Hòa Binh bridge I). (2) From October 30 to November  4, exhibition and display of booths introducing Da River fish and shrimp products, booths of endemic agricultural products, OCOP products, and general trade held at the Hoa Binh Provincial Fair and Exhibition Center. (3) 8:00 p.m. on October 30, the opening ceremony of the second Da River Fish and Shrimp Festival in Hoa Binh Province will be held at the Hoa Binh Provincial Fair and Exhibition Center. (4) On October 31, organize a sport fishing competition on Hoa Binh Lake associated with promoting culture and introducing the tourist landscape of Hoa Binh Lake held at Ba Cap Port area, Hoa Binh city. (5) On October 31, organize a fish release to regenerate aquatic resources on Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir held at Ba Cap Port area, Hoa Binh city. (6) 8:00 p.m. on November 4, 2024, closing ceremony of the Festival at the Hoa Binh Provincial Fair and Exhibition Center.

With a large water surface area, the Da River reservoir area is considered one of the places with distinct potential and comparative advantages of Hoa Binh province. Aquaculture has contributed a fairly high proportion to the growth of the agricultural sector; mainly cage fish farming on the Da River. Currently, the whole Hoa Binh province has 2,700 hectares of water surface area with 4,940 fish cages. The estimated output is 9,210 thousand tons/year. The Intellectual Property Office has granted certificates of specialty trademarks "Da River Fish - Hoa Binh" and "Da River Shrimp - Hoa Binh." Along with socio-economic development, Hoa Binh province has a culture with strong national identity, most notably the Muong culture with famous heritages, diverse and rich culinary culture, many famous local products and many potential tourist attractions. In particular, Hoa Binh Lake Tourist Area has been planned as one of the National Tourist Areas approved by the Prime Minister. The second Da River Shrimp Festival contributes to introducing impressive images of the potential, strengths, landscapes and traditional cultural identity of Hoa Binh province in general, and the Da River Lake tourist area in particular, contributing to stimulating tourism development and attracting and expanding the domestic and foreign tourist market.
