On the evening of November 17, at Hoa Binh Square (Hoa Binh City), within the framework of the Culture - Tourism Week of Hoa Binh Province in 2024, the Ethnic Costume Show of Hoa Binh Province took place. Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Culture - Tourism Week; leaders of departments, branches, districts, cities, and a large number of people and tourists.
In the opening speech, Mrs. Quach Thi Kieu, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, introduced: Hoa Binh is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions; it is home to ethnic minority communities, the largest of which is the Muong ethnic group, followed by the Kinh, Thai, Tay, Dao, and Mong ethnic groups. The ethnic groups have both common cultural and religious features, as well as their own traditional cultural and religious features, which are unique, rich, and diverse. Along with language, costumes are a traditional cultural heritage with easily recognizable characteristics of each ethnic group, containing artistic and historical values of each ethnic group. Each ethnic group has its own standards of costumes to create suitability and distinction according to gender, age and social status. Decorative art on costumes is also very diverse, with its own shaping style, or motifs with its own themes and techniques of expression, etc. these are symbols and characteristics of the culture of each ethnic group.
