The Bhutanese are not interested in television and the internet, and it was not until 1999 that Bhutanese people had access to television. However, in this country, people do not pay much attention to the media. They believe that, having a lot of access to the internet, seeing rich people, driving cars and having a lot of money, will arouse in their heart’s jealousy, no longer satisfied with their lives.

In Bhutan, the government offers a scale, called the Gross National Happiness Index, to measure people's satisfaction with life. The government of Bhutan is always aware that it is very important to bring happiness to people in daily life.

The rest regime of the people here is also very moderate and standard. A survey has shown that two thirds of the population sleep for 8 hours a night and this makes them have a very good health and feel more relaxed every day. To protect people's health, the government of Bhutan is the first country in the world to forbit smoking and selling tobacco completely since 2004.

This national government also issued a policy that aims to eliminate artificial chemicals in agricultural production with the aim of creating a source of clean, safe food for public health. The import of chemical fertilizers is also officially banned in this country.

Most of Bhutan's population is Buddhist and vegetarian, they always believe in the “law of cause and effect”, so they live very compassionately, lovingly and doing good deeds for others. That makes the life of the Bhutanese people more peaceful and happier.
